City Dog was founded by a former NASA physicist who sought to demystify the dog training process. Our methods are evidence based and data driven. You don’t need to be a “dog whisperer” or a “dog listener” to have a well behaved pet. Dog training is a scientific process. You can learn it. We can teach you.

The city environment is much different than that of the country. In the city there are countless temptations like tubes to bark on, cyclists to chase, children to scare, doors to pee on and all sorts of garbage that despite its bad health effects may smell delicious to your dog.

We train dogs, then teach owners to be their dog’s handler. This is how guide dogs, police dogs and the vast majority of working dogs are trained: a professional trains the dog, then teaches the owner to be the dog’s handler.

Whether it’s a long bus ride across town, a nip down to the pub, or a stroll in the park. We teach dogs the right way to behave in any situation so that they are welcome wherever you go.
WE KNOW EVERY DOG (AND OWNER!) IS UNIQUE
There are lots of ways to train dogs – the trick is to know which method will bring out the best in both dog and owner. For some dogs we might opt for clicker training and use the benches and bike racks at the local park as a private agility course, for others we might use a classical obedience approach – heck, recently we taught a dog to skateboard as part of his training program! Our experience in a wide variety of training approaches and dog sports allows us to custom tailor the approach for each dog and owner we meet.
